Santas Take Over Seattle on Saturday, Dec. 20
It's time for the Seattle Santacon event again this year. If you have a fear of drunk people dressed as Santa as I do (I know I'm not the only one), please try to avoid the International District, Pioneer Square, Downtown, and Capitol Hill districts tomorrow. If you're up for a good time, put on a wacky Santa costume and join in the festivities. The event starts tomorrow at noon in the International District, and you can find the schedule here.

Seattle Double Dutch is Awesome. That is All.
Last spring I went to a double dutch class, and here is what happened: I loved it so much that I joined the instructor Andrea's team, On The Double (Dutch)! We will be doing public performances beginning in Spring 2009.
The Seattle adult women double dutch class I attended was recently featured on Kiro TV news. You can get information about double dutch classes for children or adults at NW Double Dutch. If you are worried about bad knees or stiff bones, I would like to mention that the floor at Community Fitness (the location of the adult women class and some of the kid classes) is a cork floor which is easier on the bod than the pavement you used to jump rope on at recess as a kid. Also, double dutch is not as difficult as you think it is, and Andrea can usually get everyone doing at least one trick in the ropes by the end of the first class. Andrea is heading down to Mexico to teach double dutch for a couple of months so classes will start up again in Seattle in February.
Pirate Punks from Portland

I like pirates, punk, and Portland and Rum Rebellion is a band that includes all three of these things, so I'm going to have to go check this show out. Also on the bill for Saturday are The Bloodclots, Cyanide Destruct, and The Hammered Grunts.
Trivia NIght at Ye Ol' Pequliar in Ballard
The key to winning at bar trivia is to cheat. No, actually, it's to have a good team with diverse knowledge. You need a sports person, a history person, a world politics person, a US politics person, and an arts and entertainment and pop culture person. With that team, you have a winning combination that's sure to win you glorious prizes at bar trivia night.
Seattlest is hosting trivia night at Ye Ol' Pequliar at 8pm tonight. It's $5 per team (teams can be up to 5 people). Get there before 8pm to make sure your team gets a table.
